Introducing Ourselves to the Neighbourhood

grandopeningseminar

Well, we’re not even a week into our new studio, but we’re moving right along with plans and events!

When we first drove up to our new “home” in Mississauga, we noticed that one of our neighbours is the Mississauga Food Bank. It was an immediate no-brainer that the best way for us to introduce ourselves to our new neighbourhood would be to organize a donation-based seminar with the proceeds going directly down the street (about a three-minute walk!) to the food bank. There are many ways to lend a hand, but one of the most meaningful is helping to nourish those who are experiencing a hard time.  The harsh reality, as the Mississauga Food Bank mentions on its website, is that hunger in the city, in the province, and in the country is on the rise, and can impact very different demographics.

Our move coincides with the holiday season, which is a natural time to think about giving and giving back. We will be hosting a fully donations-based seminar on December 12th from 3-5 p.m. at the new studio location (3135 Universal Drive, Unit 3, Mississauga, ON, L4X 2E6). The seminar is open to both children and adults, veteran students and newcomers. We’re hoping to raise both funds and donations of non-perishable food-items for the food bank. We’ll have a donation bin available at the studio the day of the seminar, and we’re asking for a minimum of ten dollars worth of food to be given.

Not sure what to donate?  The food bank has a list of most-needed items, which you can find here.

Please help us to celebrate our many blessings by sharing them with others. For more information about the seminar, please feel free to e-mail us at sarah@canadakm.com
